‘Ranasingha Dhol Tasha Pathak’ of Shiroda and Borim secured the first place at ‘Ossai 2018’, the biggest
‘Dhol Tasha’ event of the state. Around 40 young boys and men showed their
talents and skills in the traditional art of ‘Dhol Tasha’ fusion and ‘Shigmo
Romtamel’. Artists from Borim showed their professional skills in the
traditional form of ‘Shigmo Romtamel’ while the Shiroda trendsetters impressed
all with their creativity of fusion beats. The group set a very high benchmark
in this field with their traditional as well as fusion beats. ‘Ranasingha’ was
the only group to receive a standing ovation from celebrity judges like Adarsh
Shinde, Shruti Marathe and Amit Raj. ‘Ranasingha’ gave a mind blowing
performance giving goose-bumps to the judges and making the crowd sway to their
beats. The group was awarded a trophy along with a cash prize.
The Shiroda-Borim
group not just stopped with creation of ‘Ranasingha’, but they added another
feather in their cap with the formation of Goa’s first ever all women ‘Dhol
Tasha Pathak’, ‘StriGarjana’ comprising of 40 women from the remote areas of
Shiroda and Panchwadi. The women showed great courage and dedication to take up
this challenge with the support and guidance of their teacher Vikram Karapurkar
to perform at Ossai 2018 and make their mark in the field. The group received a
Special Prize as the only women’s Dhol Tasha group to perform at the event.
Ossai 2018 was
organised by 4Kornerz Events & Adventures in association with Bymistake
Motion Pictures and Late Harishchandra Khandeparkar Kala Manch at Outdoor
Space, Ravindra Bhavan, Margao on 11th November 2018. Renowned Playback Singer
AdarshShinde, Film Actress and Celebrity Dhol Vadak Shruti Marathe and Marathi
Music Composer Amitraj were the judges for this grand event.
The
second prize was begged by Suyog Group from Adpai and third prize was secured
by Friend Circle and Mandleshwar Managuru Group from Shiroda. The event was one
of its kind and a grand success.
