PANJIM: Sairaj Dilip Vernekar secured the second place at the All India Open Fide Rating Rapid Chess Championship in the U-15 category, organised by Innovative Chess Academy at Gear Innovative International School, Bangalore, recently.
Altogether 383 players participated in the tournament.
Sairaj drew with top seed Grand Master Roy Chowdhary Saptrishi of West Bengal on 1st board in the second round.
Ritviz Parab stood eighth in the Open Category.
