The Hungry Mind is an activity centre that conducts activities to develop skills in kids. The activities
focus on reading, drama, music and art. The Centre is run by three ladies,
Andrea Crasto, Vanessa Menezes Andrade and Sandra D’Mello.
The Centre is organising the first edition
of ‘Showcase’, which aims at drawing and identifying young talent, developing
it and providing it with a showcasing platform.
The preliminary round of the contest was
held earlier in the month and the finale, comprising over 90 contestants, will
be held at Nanutel’s Metropole Hall, Margao, today, August 19, 2018. The Art
competition will be from 11am to 1pm while the Singing competition and poetry
recitation will be held simultaneously from 3:30pm onwards.
A
phonics book printed to be taken to village school to teach first generation
English students to read will also be launched at the event.
