The Students’
Parliament Competition
is a yearly competition, where students get to learn the goings on of a parliamentary session through practical
experience. V M Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar, was adjudged the Winner of
the Students’ Parliament Competition 2019, during the prize distribution
ceremony held recently in the distinguished presence of Dr Pramod Sawant,
Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly.

of Law was also awarded The Best Speaker and Best Parliamentarian award. S B
Chengalvarayan was adjudged as the ‘Best Speaker’ and Rajlaxmi Bhatkar, was
adjudged as the ‘Best Parliamentarian’ of the Competition. A total of 30
students participated from the college.
The faculty
coordinators of the college were Assistant Prof Fouzia Rizvi, Assistant Prof
Aamod Shirali, and assisted by Assistant Prof Hegel D’Costa and Assistant Prof
Danica Menezes. The Principal of the College, Dr M R K Prasad, was also present
for the ceremony.
The
Students’ Parliament Competition, for the year 2019, took place in February
2019 at the Goa Assembly Complex. The Competition was organised by the Goa
Legislature Secretariat, Porvorim, in co-ordination with Goa Legislators’
Forum. The objective of the Competition is to inculcate amongst the students
community the qualities of self- discipline, right of expression, tolerance of
the opinion of others, improved debating and expose themselves to various
virtues of democratic living. A total of 21 colleges from Goa participated in
the Competition
