The scouts of
Stds. VIII and IX along with four scout masters and sirs of St Britto High School
participated in the annual adventure hike at Nandanvan Farm, Ponda. The scouts
bravely took upon themselves the challenge of rappelling, rock climbing and
negotiating a treacherous rope bridge, all of which was done under the watchful
eyes of the experienced farm staff, scout masters and sirs that accompanied
them. The culmination of the day out was an afternoon in the swimming pool.
Around 100 NSS and
NCC students of Stds. VIII and IX along with 6 staff members went for a
trekking trip from Baga to Anjuna. It was a unique experience to walk through
the narrow and steep pathway when most of the students hardly walk today and
are used to been dropped by their parents daily to school.
The
main aim of the trek was to appreciate nature, to at times walk with nature and
to learn from nature. The trek was very enjoyable and a memorable one for the
students that took part.
