Swinging with the spooky this Halloween

Halloween is an annual holiday celebrated on October 31 in many parts of the world. As Goa doesn’t really need a reason to party, the hot spots across the state are celebrating Halloween with themed parties. Keeping up with this new trend that has made its way into the party scene in Goa, here’s a guide to the happening parties over the weekend to spook you out

 Trick-or-treating,
carving jack-o-lanterns, festive
gatherings, donning costumes and eating treats, all this is
required to get the Halloween vibe. The annual festival of Halloween is
celebrated on October 31. Halloween is the evening before the Christian holy
days of All Hallows’ Day (also known as All Saints’ or Hallowmas) on November 1
and All Souls’ Day on November 2, thus giving the holiday on October 31 the
full name of All Hallows’ Eve. Earmarking this day of the calendar, many venues
are organising Halloween parties in Goa with great music and creative and
outlandish costumes.

If you are looking for a fun Halloween party with great food,
amazing live music and spooky decor, Flame promises the best in South Goa.
Alton D’Costa of Flame Resto and Pub will be organising its first Halloween
party, Graveyard Shift Halloween Night featuring Tidal Wave and DJ Navin on
October 31, 2019 from 9pm onwards at Hotel Grace Majestic (Flame Resto Pub),
Fatorda. “We opened Flame Resto and Pub just two months ago and this will be
the first theme based party at the venue. Celebrating Halloween with costume
based theme parties is the new trend in Goa and we are following this trend. To
keep your spirits spooktastically high, a tattoo artist will help set your look
for the night,” says Alton.

Soro, Assagao will host Down and Dirty Halloween on October 31,
2019 featuring David Phimister, Priyanjana, Mista Selecta and Melwin. Showbar,
Candolim will organise Halloween edition with a Monster Bash on November 2,
2019 featuring Nrush, And, Fake Tattoos and Flaz who will keep the crowd on the
floor dancing to the beats of hip-hop, RnB, Trap, bass, dancehall and
Afrobeats. Don’t be disappointed if you don’t feel like you’re dressed right
for the party as Jazmyne’s make-up and Delites with their props and masks will
put you in the vibe of the party. MC Sammy will pick his favourite couple’s
costume at 2:30am.

Alvaro Miranda of SinQ Hospitality says, “This year, we will be
having a party today, October 31, 2019 at Soro, and Showbar on Saturday. This
is the third year Showbar will be hosting a Halloween party. Soho receives a
great crowd as it is in the city and a lot of locals love to dress up in
costumes and are inclined to party at Soho compared to the tourist-inclined
parties at Showbar and Soro. The whole of Panjim looks forward to the Halloween
party at Soho and the place is also set up with face painters and deco to go
with the theme.”

Firefly, Pedrito’s by
the Banyan, Benualim-Varca, are organising the Thursday night Halloween Party
on October 31 with the Live Music Project Special featuring Take 5ive live in
concert. The band members include Celeste Sanches, Aldrich Rodrigues, Adrian
Sequira, Daniel Miranda, Ryan Andrade and Dwayne Fernandes.

Vagabond Goa and Rage
Entertainment are presenting Mad Halloween at Hilltop, Vagator on October 31,
from 8pm, featuring Ma Faiza, Bullzeye, Starteq, Priya, Ayush, Nelio and
Priyanjana.

After a roaring
success of Spooktacular 1.0 at Showbar last year, the party is back in full
swing with Spooktacular II, Goa’s Spooky Halloween Party at Cape Town, Baga on
November 2, 2019 featuring Nathan Vaze, Nikita Jadhava and Lndrx. Nitson Viegas
of D Sound, who organises the party, says, “Last year, we had the first
Halloween party, Spooktacular 1.0, which was organised at Showbar and we
received a great crowd. This year, we wanted a venue with more capacity and
premier value so we are having it at Cape Town, Baga, which will support the
crowd. D Sound is a record label company that promotes music by other diverse
artistes and this line up of upcoming artists also features great talent. Goan
youngsters look forward to the party and they come dressed with their costumes
and make-up,” says Nitson.

So
get out your wackiest costumes and your spookiest masks as you head out for a fun
night in Goa.
