Konkani Bhasha Mandal is organising ‘Sangaman-22’, a literary conference on October 7 and 8,
2017 at Ravindra Bhavan in Margao in association with Sangaman and Takshashila
Educational Society. Sangaman has been organised all over India earlier and the
one being held in Goa is the 22nd edition of the conference. Organised by
Sangaman organisation and sponsored by the Takshashila Educational Society,

Marathi writer Raosaheb Kasbe.
Chetan Acharya, President, Konkani Bhasha Mandal, says, “This is
the 22nd edition of the festival and we are having this for the first time in
Goa. The main motive is to connect the Goan authors to authors from other
languages. In future editions of the festival, we will see Goan authors
visiting other places in India to be part of this national conference.”
“It is important to connect to the national stream and
understand what’s happening across the nation. This conference aims at looking
at different topics with a 2020 perspective,” says, Nityanand Naik, Secretary,
Konkani Bhasha Mandal.
Noted Goan writer and poet Damaodar Mauzo, who is going to
participate in the conference, says, “It is a conference of writers with a
progressive mindset. Different issues related to literature and those that
concern writers, along with subjects revolving around the literature scene in
the country and social issues will be discussed. Some of the topics that we
plan on touching upon are discrimination or inequality, problems faced by
minorities and dalits, etc. It is going to be a healthy exchange of thoughts
from writers.” Speaking about the development in the literature space in Goa,
Mauzo says, “It is nice to see new writers coming up in Konkani literature.
Writers like Ramesh Ghadi, Devidas Gaonkar, Amey Naik, etc are coming up with
