The biking brotherhood is celebrating in Vagator!

This year’s editon of Rider Mania, the annual event that attracts bikers, especially owners of Royal Enfield motorcycles, kicked off on November 20, 2015. Café looks into what is happening at the 3-day festival in Vagator

Chances are that regardless of which part
of Goa you’re from, you might have heard the iconic thump of two-wheeled
beasts, thousands of them at that, making their way into Goa. For the annual
festival that is held by Royal Enfield to celebrate the spirit of biking
brotherhood and camaraderie – Rider Mania 2015 quite literally kick-started in
Vagator on November 20, 2015. Touted to be the biggest gathering of Royal
Enfield riders, Rider Mania has interesting activities and performances lined
up for the course of the three-day festival. As per officials, more than 6,000
riders are expected to attend the festival this year.

 In
its decade of rising popularity, Rider Mania’s main mantra has been to be
bigger and better every year. While main ingredients like the camaraderie, the
dirt track races and a rider’s ultimate mood lifter – good music, remain the
same, the magnitude continues to grow. This year, akin to every year, Royal
Enfield owners from several cities including Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai will
be riding in to the venue of the festival in groups. Bikers can visit the
nearest company showrooms to inquire about forming their own group for this
adventure.

The whole weekend festival has an
exhaustive line-up of motorcycling events. Making its debut is the Dirt Track
Racing Training especially incepted for the new Royal Enfield enthusiasts. The
training session is a fun and hands-on training session open to all Royal
Enfield riders. While one session was conducted on the first day of the
festival, Day 2 will see the second session of the training take place at the
venue. Riders will be trained for basic riding skills on a dirt track by
experienced coaches. In addition to that will be the early morning breakfast
rides that give the opportunity to ride along with the local Royal Enfield
clubs where riding tales are shared. The Celebration Ride will take place with
all participants exploring the natural trails of Goa to celebrate the
motorcycling spirit of the riders. Other events such as Trials
(For 350 cc and 500 cc), which require every rider to make his/her way through
a pre-determined obstacle course without bringing their feet to the ground,
otherwise known as dabbing, Slow Race, Arm Wrestling, Custom Motorcycle
Competition, etc will be held across 4 venues in Vagator Hill Top area where
non-stop activities and fun will go on simultaneously for the participants.

 A
big reason for any rider to be at Rider Mania is to witness the scintillating
performances by some of the greatest indie music giants of recent times. This
year, names like Indian Ocean, Karsh Kale, Raghu Dixit project, Dualist
Inquiry, F16 and DJ Nucleya will be performing at the venue.
