The equation of quarrelling neighbours

The story revolves around two neighbours, Jaki Anton (Jose) and
Carmelin (Evon). Both of them are at loggerheads over several issues and
bickering continues endlessly. Jaki Anton is blessed with two daughters, Suzan
(Snella) and Maria (Flexcy), while Carmelin is blessed with two sons Tony
(Stancio) and Johnny (Anif), who has speech impairment.

The children are fed-up on account of the fights that continue
in the neighbourhood. They try to convince their parents, but to no avail. And
the fight between the two neighbours continues over flimsy issues.

A day dawns when Jaki Aton falls sick and his two daughters
Suzan and Maria panic. They run and seek assistance from neighbour, Carmelin.
Brushing aside all indifferences, she goes to help, but out of sheer stubbornness,
Jaki refuses her assistance. The end result is worth the wait during the second
half and when the last scene is enacted.

In between the acts, there are scenes from an energetic and
bubbling police officer (Oswin), a hawaldar (Arnaldo Costa) and a corrupt
politician (Tony). There’s also a youth, who is a drunkard (Alister), a
small-time thief (Melisa) and a parish priest (Aston), who try to entertain the
audience.

All these characters
try to entertain you with different enactments on stage.

How people had to
slog in order to make ends meet and how tiatrists picked up different trades to
fend themselves during the pandemic have been highlighted in the drama.

All the artistes have
given a fine performance. And among the handful of commercial tiatrists, there
are a good number of budding artistes, who give their best in the presentation.
The director needs to be praised for roping in amateurs and providing them a
platform to showcase their talents on stage.

In
the category of songs, the opening song rendered by Stancio and Melisa has
something different at the end. There are solos from Jose, Stancio, Benny de
Aldona, Jr Reagan, Melisa, Selwin de Siolim and Aston. There are two duets from
Aston and Snella and Jose/Evon and a trio by Flexcy, Tony and Anif. Ashtruf and
his team have assisted the singers with a live band offstage.
