The 23 talented singers are all set. After a scintillating performance in Margao that spoke volumes about
the talent of each and every contestant, the stage at Kala Academy is all prepped
up to host the mega-finale of Goencho Avaz, organised by Herald Group in
association with State Bank of India.
Never before had Goa seen a singing competition of this
stature dedicated to jewels of Konkani language like Chris Perry, Alfred Rose,
Remmie Colaco, M. Boyer and others. The soulful compositions of these veterans
were brought to life on stage with tender voices of talented Goan youngsters.
Apart from the melodious songs, the mega finals will see performances
by Dance Illusion and A-unit dance crew. The talented dancers will be seen
grooving and moving in style and doing what they do best. A bouquet of Twist,
Soul, Foxtrot, Cha cha, Bossanova, Waltz, March, Indian and even Passo Doble
will be presented to the audience with ace drummer Abdonio Rodricks making a
special appearance supported by another well known percussionist on Octopad, John
Fernandes. They will be accompanied by Mariano Dias on bass guitar, Mariano
Furtado on rhythm guitar, James Vaz on keyboards, Anthony de Velim and others.
The mega finals will see guest performances by renowned
Konkani artistes Lulu Fortes, Anthony San, Sonia Shirsat, Fr Domnic Alvares who
will also do the honours of judging the contestants and choosing the most
talented singer of the lot.
