These last two months have been strange for most people around the world.
Staying locked in at home for such an extended period of time has had a direct
bearing with our routined existence. While some of us have missed going to our
respective schools, colleges and workplaces, some have also learnt to adapt and
perhaps enjoy the nuances of being home. Close to family, cooking together,
afternoon siestas and the liberty of brushing up on skills and hobbies that
were long pushed to the back of the priority pile.
In Goa, the last couple of weeks have been a fun experience for
many home singers. JumpCut Goa, India’s First Videozine that is entirely
dedicated to the sunshine state, has been encouraging young talent to upload
videos of them singing in their homes. The response has been great for the
producers with plenty of entries on their Instagram page in a short period of
time.
Aritra Mukherjee, the Founder of the Videozine is happy to see
so many young talents participating. He says, “The initial idea was to
communicate to all these young talented girls and boys that here’s a platform
for all of you to just sing. Don’t be shy, don’t be scared of people judging
you, just let out your emotions and let your voice do the trick. The response
has been phenomenal. Everyone can see the level of talent that is sitting
inside these homes in Goa.”
The producers intend to create original music tracks and shoot a
unique Music Video with the participants that will highlight Goa through the
eyes of these singers. Mukherjee adds, “This is not a one-time exercise. This
is just the beginning. We will carry on with this exercise at regular intervals
and extend it to many more disciplines. These are exciting times for Digital
Content in Goa.”
A
much needed breath of positivity, this is an exercise that needs to be
encouraged. If you are one who has a talent and wants a platform to showcase
it, share your videos with the team at their Instagram Handle @jumpcutgoa.
