Goans can be notoriously picky eaters, and Spicy, that has just
opened its doors to these diners, sells itself with the tagline of ‘Not only is
it darned tasty, it’s authentic and will keep you craving for more’!
With quirky names on the menu, from a seemingly well thought
out, ‘Aaichya Hatiche’ afternoon meal to a sophisticated bar, Spicy
is looking to break into the southern dining segment. Diners should note that
the fish here is to die for, and the Asian options on the menu are surprisingly
satisfactory. However, the management insists that the menu will boast of a series
of additions along the way, each one outdoing the last. The meal in question,
when summarised, could be best described as zesty, vivid, spicy, delectable and
utterly savoury.
The brainchild of Rohit Naik, a young boy from Curtorim who cut
his teeth in trade while working aboard cruise ships, Spicy was a homecoming
that involved him taking a plunge and entering the world of culinary
entrepreneurship. With years of hospitality experience and being well versed
with cuisines from all around the world, his infectious energy is what could
well make Spicy a memorable dining experience.
What is interesting to note for people working in the
commercial capital is that Spicy also has a corporate discount, which is excellent
news for all the office goers.
