Kala Academy Goa, and Tiatr Academy of Goa are jointly organising the Tiatr Day Celebration on tomorrow from 4.30 p.m onwards at the main auditorium, Institute Menezes Braganza, Panaji. Shri Govind Gaude, Hon’ble Minister for Art & Culture, Govt. of Goa, will be the Chief Guest for the function. Shri. Menino Fernandes, President, Tiatr Academy Goa, Shri. Mario Menezes, Vice President, Tiatr Academy Goa, Dr. Cosma Fernandes, General Council Member of Kala Academy, Shri. Premanand Sangodkar, Senior Tiatr Artist, Shri. Avito Fernandes, Senior Tiatr Artist, will be the Guests of honour. The function has been arranged with venue courtesy of the Institute Menezes Braganza.
On this occasion a get together/ tea party of invites and artists at the exhibition hall of Institute Menezes Braganza has been arranged. Thereafter, Tiatr Day function will be held in which there will be felicitation of 12 senior Goan tiatr artistes selected for the year 2019 & 2020 namely Maria Lourdes Fernandes (Singer & Stage Actress), Salvador Afonso (Director, Singer, Script Writer), Minguel Rodrigues (Musician-Saxophone player), Hortencio Saluzinho Eduardo Vaz e Pereira (Director, Writer, Actor, Lyricist) Joao Francisco Silva alias John D’Silva (Actor, Writer, Director), Ramesh Babay Komarpant (Script Writer, Director,Singer), Felecidade P. Rebelo (Director, Actor, Singer), Zeferino Dias (Script Writer, Singer) Kenneth Michael Thereza Zuzarte (Singer, Lyricist), Menino Mario Araujo ( Script Writer, Lyricist, Singer, Actor), Jose Antonio Agostinho Fernandes (Anthony San) (Director, Writer, Actor, Singer, Lyricist), Vitorino B.J. De Araujo (Musician – Trumpet player) at the hands of the Chief Guest for their outstanding contribution in the field of tiatr.
The felicitation function will be followed by the Prize Distribution of Tiatr ‘A’ & ‘B’ Group Competition 2020-21 at the hands of dignitaries followed by presentation of Tiatr Skits & Songs.
Considering Covid Pandemic standard operating procedure guidelines in force, the entry will be restricted to representatives of Tiatr institutions of ‘A’ & ‘B’ group Tiatr competition, felicitants, Guests, Tiatr Artist etc, as decided by the organisers. All those invitees attending will have to strictly maintain adequate physical distancing and ensure wearing of face masks, without which entry to the programme will not be allowed.
