The Tiatr troupe led by Deputy
Superintendent of Police Sammy Tavares will head to the United States of
America with his latest Tiatr ‘Tim Thikam Sanddlelim’. Speaking about this,
Tavares said he feels honoured and overjoyed with the tremendous response his
latest tiatr has received. He also expressed his deep gratitude to his fans and
tiatr lovers.
“Never in the 120-year history of tiatr had
any tiatr been invited to the US. I am the first such person to be invited
there by my fans based in the US. It is an honour,” said Tavares.
“We
will stage two shows at Houston and New Jersey on October 4 and 5 respectively.
This will be the first Goan Konkani tiatr troupe to perform in the US. It is a
privilege for us and a milestone for Goan tiatr,” he added.
Tavares also informed that he will soon be
celebrating the golden jubilee of the tiatr. This is the second tiatr of
Tavares and both his works have achieved the 50 shows mark.
