“TRAVELING – IT LEAVES YOU SPEECHLESS, THEN TURNS YOU INTO A STORYTELLER.” – IBN BATTUTA.
They are those who can travel and tell tales. They are the travel writers and bloggers, for whom their profession but also the passion has taken a backseat and they don’t even know when they would be able to travel again. And even when they can travel, would things ever be the same again, would they feel safe enough to travel at all?
“It seems natural that if no one can travel, no one can write about travel either. Travel writers have taken a big hit – and this will likely continue in the near future since travel projects, stories, and sponsored trips will be put on hold. So if one is making an income solely out of travel writing/blogging, there will be a need to look for another income stream. But I’m optimistic that we’ll all be traveling again at some point – although more carefully and more sustainably than before. Until then, travel writers and bloggers will have to focus on domestic travel since that’s the area that will bounce back first” feels Jade Dsa, a well-known travel blogger from Goa.
‘The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.’ This period is really uncertain for everyone and the feet of the travelers are itching to pack their suitcases again. However, let’s not get hopeless. What if we can’t explore right now. We have enough memories from our previous trips to sustain daydreaming for the next two years says mommy travel blogger, Mandira Adhikari
While Ayesha, a young travel blogger and student says, “ My suggestion to fellow travelers would be to travel within, there’s a whole universe out there, and we are as it is in one of the ‘paradises’ of the world!”
Nolan Mascarenhas, a popular travel writer shares, “the future of travel depends on many variables. This is not the first time the world has encountered an epidemic or pandemic in this case. Currently, many disciplines and fields of work are in a ‘pause’ and a containment remedy to combat this is currently dealing with the hiatus.
Currently, for those who backpack and travel- it’s pretty much like how we used to play musical chairs at friends parties when the music stopped. You are seated exactly where you choose.”
Well, for now, we can say that the bloggers can only cherish their past travels and make plans for the future, but when the future will realize only time will tell. But till then let’s all stay at home, keep ourselves and others safe and wait for better times!
.
Till then, they will be logged on but blogged out
