It’s Goa’s 60th anniversary of Goa’s liberation, a time for reflection and celebration. A time to celebrate the progress but to also mull over the distance that needs to be covered to ensure the people of Goa lives a comfortable and enjoyable life. Something does however need to change immediately. The streets of Goa are usually commended for being amongst the best in the country. Let’s not kid ourselves. However, when an occasion arises the authorities make it a point to highlight their “successes.” In this case, means decorating and showcasing the main roads in the capital, Panjim which have been spruced up for President Ram Math Kovind’s visit.
But go within and this is what you see.
When will we get liberated from bad roads…….which the President will not see
Another joyous occasion as Goa celebrates the 60th anniversary of liberation; the roads leading to the important locations have been lit up. However, the city’s inner roads leave much to be desired. Our photographer Sagun Gawade went around the city clicking evidence of the state of the main roads and the conditions of the inner roads.
