‘Incredible Tata Nano Owners Club’ launched
PANJIM: On Sunday, Goa witnessed the grand launch of the Incredible Tata Nano Owners Club at the Goa Marriott Resort & Spa, Panjim. The event was marked by a city-wide treasure hunt with as many as 130 participants in 40 cars, racing around the capital. Before the flag-off, the enthusiastic club members christened their very own customer club as the ‘Incredible Tata Nano Owners Club’.
Flagged off from Goa Marriott Resort & Spa, Miramar, the hunt set out a trail of surprises.
Dominic D’ Souza completed the 16 kilometre hunt in 30 minutes and claimed the first prize. Mansi M Bandodkar and Gaurav G Mardolkar completed the hunt as the first and the second runner up, respectively.
Besides the cash prizes for the winners of the hunt, there were a multitude of goodies offered to all the participants which included fuel vouchers, Tata Nano branded bags and prizes for exciting games conducted during the span of the launch. The event concluded with a delicious spread of snacks served to all the participants at the Goa Marriott Resort & Spa.
Bangalore student wins I – Create Business Plan Competition
PANJIM: I Create India’s 7th National Business Plan Competition (NBPC) was held in Goa on January 12 at Maquinez Palace.
The event was held in association with Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which operates I Create Goa Center.
NBPC, a marquee annual event of I Create is the culmination of Change the Mind Set (CMS) program conducted in different educational institutions across the country. This year, close to a thousand students participated in the CMS program and each one prepared a business plan. From these, through institution level and then regional level competitions, eleven finalists were chosen to participate at the NBPC in Goa. Three of them were from Goa.
Jocelyn Shiny Priscilla Of I Create Vishwas from Bangalore with business plan of ‘Hand Made Decoratives’ was awarded the first prize. Vaishali Jayasinghe Of I Create Gujarat with business plan of ‘Decorative Items’ was judged as the second prize winner. Rafuishaan D’Sa of I Create Goa for with the business plan of ‘Fresh Juice at Caranzalem’ was judged as the third prize winner.
The winner gets an all-expense paid trip to New York in April to participate in the annual global gala event of NFTE (Network For Teaching Entrepreneurship) of USA where participants from 25 other countries also assemble to show case their business ideas.
B R Venkatesh Of I Create Safar, Mumbai Center was awarded the National Entrepreneurship Educator of I Create India for year 2012. He also gets an all expense paid trip to New York in April to participate in NFTE.
The prizes were distributed at the hands of Bharat Vir Wanchoo, who was the Chief Guest at the valedictory function. In his valedictory speech the Governor commended the I Create vision and its mission of empowering youth and women from disadvantaged sections of our society through entrepreneurship development at grassroots level. He appreciated Goa Chamber of Commerce in furthering the industry-academia involvement and collaboration for taking up social causes. He also congratulated the management and principals of all colleges for their support and willingness to tread a new path without any compulsion or out of fear or favour.
He applauded all the teachers who have decided to walk that extra mile in the sincere hope that this one initiative may spark a response in at least a few and that the trickle may soon be a river leading to an ocean of opportunities.
Earlier, the Chamber President, Manguirish Pai Raiker, welcomed the guests and Harsh and Aruna Bhraghav spoke about their reasons for starting I –Create and Ulhas Kamat, CEO of I-Create India gave the progress of I-Crete in India and Goa.
