Be a magnetic personality

We should make our life worthwhile. It is not merely education or the marks that we get as students, which make our life worthwhile. We must be able to manifest those desirable acquirements in our contact. We spontaneously respect and revere such a person. There is music wherever such a person works; there is a joy, a beautiful fragrance of personality, which attracts us to him.
Mahatma Gandhi was in no way good-looking. He was not a Mr Universe, and yet, when we think of him, does our mind not rise in reverence and adoration? Compare Winston Churchill’s personality with Gandhiji’s. The world has forgotten Churchill. What is this extra glow in Gandhi? Mahatma Gandhi was a personality! We are not talking of clothes he wore or the hair on the head. But still we admire him. This compelling attractiveness can be developed by every one of us by making our character great.
Wherever we talked of people who have achieved success in life, we have talked of their ability to attract a large number of people. Therefore, an individual who can attract a larger number of people towards him is viewed as the most successful man. Many of us may become big businessmen. May be, you will be serving other people. You may even become rich, but if people are not attracted to you in spite of your knowledge, wealth and readiness to serve, you cannot succeed.
Those who attract seem to have special qualities in them. It is something that we all can develop. A person who has this quality is known to have a dynamic character — I mean the quality or attitude of mind. People are attracted by character. Those who can cultivate such a dynamic character are the mighty men — the molders and the makers of the world. To the extent we develop ourselves, to that extent we can achieve things in future.
The removal of negative mental habits is called personality reconstruction or character building. It cannot be done for you by others. Each one of us will have to develop our personality by ourselves.
Mere knowledge is useless. We must learn to use that knowledge. We must have an attractive personality with good mental habits to ensure our success in life. This is the secret power of attracting people.
