First, the people of Goa were shocked to see Francis D’Souza being sidelined when the post of Chief Minister was given to Laxmikant Parsekar, despite his seniority and loyalty to the BJP. When no Catholic would even dream of joining the BJP, Francis made a daring move and embraced the BJP but was repaid with ingratitude.
It happens that it is now the turn of Alina Saldanha to be made a victim of BJP’s ‘Use and Dump’ policy. The BJP’s ‘short-span’ memory has probably deleted the sacrifice made by late Matanhy Saldanha when he stood steadfast by the BJP as a consequence of which he was disqualified. Naming buildings after one is dead and gone is no gratitude. Consideration and respect for his wife may rest Matanhy’s soul in peace!
