The Editor of Herald is very much right to comment that The Congress has no business to pretend that it has been anti-Mopa. (Herald dated 2 November 2014)The former chief minister’s of the Congress government like Francisco Sardinha, Luizinho Faleiro, Pratapsing Rane and Digamber Kamat are responsible for the proposed Mopa airport and now they are fooling us saying that they do not want Mopa now.
Few year back Adv Anacleto Viegas, Adv Radharao Gracias and others and I was one of them had formed an anti-Mopa committee and had approached the then Chief Minister Digamber Kamat in the Assembly complex at Porvorim and requested him to drop the proposal of Mopa airport. He said no. Then we also met Manohar Parikar in the capacity of Opposition leader, he too said no. Now Fr Eremito is making lot of efforts to drop the proposal and Chief Minister Parrikar does not care for our protest. Now I feel only if Churchill Alemao comes out on the streets like he did during Save Goa in the past the Mopa airport will disappear from Goa.
So I request all our Goans, to come out in the streets along with Churchill Alemao, and agitate like we did during language agitation to show that we are united and so that Mopa will never come up.
