Goa is not dead (reg. article ‘Is Goa dead’). But it needs a lifeline. Help must come from government and traders. The visa fees are putting people off. I have been coming for 6 years and the many people who introduced me to Goa, all 10-year plus visitors, are now visiting Sri Lanka and Thailand. Also Canary islands are a threat due to strong pound v/s euro and only 4 hours flight time and no visa. A good idea would be a holiday visa say for a month at half price. Also some restaurants and shack holders preferred the rouble against the pound and now want the English back.
