Hypocrisy loud and clear

Goa is slowly but surely turning into a den for all the illicit activities dragging itself into an abyss of no return. Thanks largely to our politicians. We have here in our constituency an ex-MLA shouting at the top of his voice about the illegal drugs trade claiming to have all the knowledge of their activities, accusing the ruling government of their failure to act against it. Mind we remind the MLA that it was during his tenure of the last 10 years that the drugs menace really flourished in our constituency! Despite all the knowledge he proclaims to have about the trade, why was he as mute as a donkey during his tenure as a ruling MLA?
Now coming to the present MLA, he is more concerned about playing to the gallery than doing anything about it. When he, as one of the three member of the committee appointed to act upon the report submitted on the drugs mafia–politician’s nexus, in fact decided to take a stand for the accused politician saying the report lacked concrete evidence to take any actions against the ex-home minister, in the process throwing the credibility of the report down the drain. These politicians are merely fooling the people by raising the issue but doing a complete U-turn when it comes to match their words with actions.
