I request all religious people running schools and heads of churches to please stop asking us for donations. Request for donations has become a disease and a way to get easy and unaccountable money. One or the other institutions request for donations throughout the year. Sometimes we are forced to give donations due to our weakness. Sadly, there is no one to look after the poor and downtrodden in Goa, but everyone is interested in north India, south India, Africa and which other place I do not know. Just today a Catholic school wants to install CCTV cameras. If the school cannot afford why go for such a luxury? When we were in schools we did not have shoes to wear and our teachers did not have money to buy a proper decent pant and shirt. There are lakhs of young boys and girls looking out for a proper job and many of them go to bed on empty stomach. The church authorities are not at all bothered about the poor people in Goa, but they want church to be built in five-star style. I am not criticising the priests and nuns, but can we just keep quiet and say they are the people of God! It pinches me when I am forced to give donations, because I am not a Tata or a Birla or an Ambani. Quo Vadi Domino!
