In our country everyone is free to adopt any style of clothing. There is no point in raising such a question on the veil, let us leave that to the women to decide. The recent statement by Mulayam Singh about the veil is baseless and stupid as the veil has nothing to do with the backwardness of a woman. Progress is not seen in clothes rather its through one’s thought, ideas, constructive work and efforts. Instead of raising silly issues, priority should be given to work on issues relating to women’s safety in Mulayam’s hometown and elsewhere in the country. Women are raped, assaulted, molested almost everyday which is absolute evil and nobody is coming forward with practicable ideas to solve these major problems.
