Loving Participation

When we participate in the world and its need to unity, we are exercising responsibility the result is we can begin to relate to the world in its totality as people of faith and good will. We know that through opportunities we use well, God recreates the world.

You are not just blessed for yourself; you are blessed to be blessing to others.”
The higher unity is a unity that grows even as we affirm the differences, not by ignoring them. Unity in diversity is a catchy phrase that occurs in many nations constitutions. For us such unity is possible because we can recognize God’s affirmation of each of us regardless of backgrounds. Very especially such unity transcends religious differences
Our love and acceptance of people of different faiths as per our constitution, “All Indians are our brothers and sisters” should not be based on conditions as we see what comes up in media and what happens around when we focus on caste and creed. When we contribute to the world’s growth, it is not only the world that grows but also we grow and we enter into what someone defined as “loving participation”
In India and other countries where there is religious strife we must ‘meet’ others, assuage their fears communicate and share their genuineness of our intentions, be we Christians, Hindus Parses, Muslims or Buddhists. One who understands ones humanity should rejoice when a new challenge looms on the horizon.
A woman  entered a church one Sunday she was new and seemed not familiar with what was being done. She however paid careful attention when the sermon was being preached, after the prayers were over this lady told some people she was a Buddhist and had come to pray for her boyfriend who died in an accident. She came to a Catholic Church to honour him and tell his God how she missed him. Here was a Buddhist girl praying for her Catholic boy friend, strange world! This one but this is the new world a brave new world! The human family is not found in the safety of walled compounds and secure church/ temples/ mosques buildings it is found in a community that spontaneously gathers and creates the opportunity to celebrate a love that can cross through barriers of caste, creeds and religion. Each time we cross the road to help someone in need; the world becomes our family and God our loving, caring creator, who visits us and the other in need through the goodness we share with the other and them with us.
Our creative pursuit, our open minds and an all embracing heart build up this world and every experience that makes us respond enhances our meaning of life, we become a source of meaning for us and others.
Time really slips our fingers like tiny grains of sand we will never get a second chance to live life to the fullest and as pilgrims on this journey we are called to be inclusive, forgiving and a neighbour to those on the road as together we have to face unknown paths with a known God.
