Minds and Mindsets of Men

A mind is part of a person that thinks, feels, and remembers. Accordingly, we have many kinds of mind.

Negative mind lives in the past or the future and spoils the present. Such a mind, when it receives ten compliments and one insult, remembers only one offence and forgets the ten praises.
Power-hungry mind use their tongue power to utter colored words of bitterness and anger; use their weapons of character assassination and harass people at home or at work-place and thus dominate others.
Prison minds build their own prison, stone by stone, with their own thoughts and beliefs. Thus become prisoners of superstitions, fashions, self-image, worry, anger and various other wants and wishes.
There is a difference between the mind and the mindset.  A person’s reaction to a situation or opinion about something is his mindset. There are different types of mindsets; and their number of variations could be endless; but, it could simply boil down to two mindsets: positive and negative; only a few can be explained here for want of space.
People who have the social mindset love to hang around to chat with friends and relatives.  Such people tittle-tattle about the juiciest topics of morality, but they go on raping women. They talk about God, devotion and prayer but in life all they do is to give suggestions to others to destroy their home peace. The happiness of such folks depends on chatterbox.
Caste obsessed mindsets support social identities of caste and think that lower caste people should treat them as superior and righteous group.
People with a fixed mindset believe that they are clever and their intelligence is unchanging and fixed; they refuse to learn new things. People with a growth mindset believe that things can be developed through their effort. They understand that no one has ever accomplished great things without years of practice and learning.
Many people have fear mindset; they divide relatives and friends by passing on the buck due to fear of losing a relationship, e.g. Margret being jealous of Lucy, whisper her (Margret’s) own words of criticism in the ears of Jennet lying that the person behind the words of condemning Jennet is none other than Lucy. This leads to strained association between Lucy and Jennet. Thus weak people like Jennet swallow false whispers; and thus friends and families get separated or even good neighborly relationship is spoilt. The greedy mindset is always wanting more and more. The more they have, the more they want.
Now, with this familiarity of mind and mindsets, many will be able to identify their own brand and shape their state of mind by throwing out that way of thinking which has bad effect on their life and strive to adopt the one which will benefit them. Controlling the mind is a lifelong process. One becomes what one thinks. Mind can be changed or improved with new thoughts.
Yes, in the end, it is not the years that we lived that count; but the type of mind we have survived with, in this world. It doesn’t how long we are here on this good Earth, but rather the kind of mindset we lived with during our existence on this planet.
