State records 72.6 mm of rainfall till date

The incessant rains that hit the State on Friday took the total rainfall to 45 inches.
The heavy rains continued to lash the State for the second consecutive day. The Met department recorded 72.6 mm of rainfall for the State on Friday.
The official said that the second spell of monsoon which hit Goa two days back took the total rainfall to 1110.6 mm (45 inches).
City’s low lying areas were inundated with knee deep water troubling the traffic movement. Choked gutters blocked the water from clearing off.
Canacona witnessed the highest amount of rainfall today, with Met department recording 180.0 mm of rainfall. It was followed by Margao (116.4mm), Ponda (104.6mm) and Murmagao (100.8mm).
