As the saying goes everything that shines is not gold and appearances are deceptive. It is good to see our Goan roads getting set for the so-called Godfathers of BRICS. It looks like all those VVIP coming to Goa are suffering from cardiac problems as they have imposed standing instructions to the contractors doing the roads that all of them from the Airport to Hotel Leela should not be bumpy at all and as a result all the speed breakers should been taken off. This act clearly displays the concern our Government has for the people using these roads.
The Government has proved to the people of Goa that other than Goans, the VVIP of other countries have a greater importance. What should have been the Government’s concern is that, by taking off the speed breakers who will be held accountable for the accidents that take place during this time. Speeding of vehicles are already on the rise and casualties will surface and who is then responsible. How is the Government going to stop the stray animals that get on the roads? Are these so-called leaders so important than we Goans? Why should the speed breakers be taken off?
Our RTO personals challan the two-wheelers for not wearing helmets just because they will die in an event of an accident. Wow! What concern by the Government towards the fellow Goans. Where is this concern gone now? By removing the speed breakers how safe is it to be on the roads. The RTO Heads need to explain to the people of Goa the reasons for this hazard caused by the job they are doing. Who has given these orders and why.
Dear Goans, please be cautious while voting in the oncoming elections. Those who do not care for us, should not be kept within our sights. Today our roads may look good but our children are in serious trouble. Before we lose what is so precious to our heart let us do away with this Government in the coming elections. A stitch in time saves nine.
