Nowadays everybody likes to surf Internet irrespective of age whether young or old, teens or adults. Living in this so called hi-tech era, children are no longer exception. It will not be surprising if I say that adults and teenagers are addicted of using Internet. It’s become a new era addiction. Nowadays one can easily use Internet on their mobiles which have become more approachable to people as mobiles are more handy and portable. Thus people can use Net anytime, anywhere without any problem.
Surfing/ browsing Net is good as it helps people to fetch knowledgeable information on any topic using different search engines like Google, Yahoo, etc. Countless number of people has joined social sites like Facebook, WhatsApp which help them to maintain relations or keep in touch with far off people living abroad.
There are numerous advantages provided to us by Internet but one point I would strongly oppose is – the advertisements which pop up all the time disturbing one’s attention especially the ones having vulgar/ obscene images of women. Sometimes the images are so indecent which can lure our children and young generation to visit those sites which are not meant for them at that age.
My few suggestions are as follows: Such vulgar/obscene ads should not pop up on social sites. Sites should be segregated based on age groups and accordingly marked/highlighted for instance children sites, adult sites, universal sites, etc.
I think by doing this, we can somewhat avoid our children and teenagers falling into this trap of addiction. If proper guidance is imparted to children by parents or by teachers at school level on the topic ‘Pros and cons of using Internet‘ then perhaps they might have enough understanding or wisdom to choose what is right or wrong thus deciding towards their bright/ gloomy future.
