For the first time ever, we are having a jungle raj in Goa. The government is of the people, for the people and by the people. But our government is not ready to listen to the people. The people from Tiracol village are shouting at the top of their voices not to allow the Leading Hotels or the golf course in their village but our Chief Minister says the Leading Hotels have paid money to the government and the money cannot be returned.
What a wise man he is. If he wants he can take as many U-turn on casinos, but for the people’s sake U-turn is a difficult job. The Ministers and the MLAs in the present dispensation are so pure and holy that they do not do anything wrong. On Sunday, Herald exposed the gambling in Sattari wherein former Congress candidate in Siolim and the brother of a BJP leader were involved but the BJP president Vinay Tendulkar denies all this.
The Louis Berger episode is pre-planned in order to divert the attention of the misdeeds of BJP ministers at the centre. Why only two former ministers are being dragged in when there are so many from the ruling also to share the tasty ‘burgers’? The rules should be applicable to one and sundry and not the selected ones.
The recent dispute in Nerul is an eye opener to those who are sitting at the helm of Goan affairs. The ministers and the government officials are misguiding the residents of Nerul towards the proposed project of Technical school which would benefit the youth from the village and the surrounding areas. The Communidade land is not for anyone to grab but for developmental work. The owners of the land cannot leave acres of it for cattle grazing. The land purchased by Don Bosco shows a single cross and no gumtis and khomptis. There are so many hotel projects which have come up and many more are in the pipeline in villages and none objected.
Hope better sense and truth prevails.
