This is with regards to the advertisement which Leading Hotels had published a month back in some leading papers entitled from barren to beautiful. Firstly it is important to assert that the title itself is bogus as every Goan knows the fact that the village of Tiracol is not barren but beautiful and it does not need Leading Hotels to make it beautiful.
The Divine has blessed the village with natural beauty. The land too is not barren, but productive as it sustains the livelihood of the people in the form of farming during monsoon and cashew crop during summer.
Secondly, the Leading Hotel by showing willingness to take care of the absence of steady power supply, 24 hours drinking water, a system of garbage con, etc., is attempting to fool the people.
With regards to these fake promises, how can people of Tiracol be assured that they will get all these facilities, while at present they are threatened and challenged by the so-called bouncers of the said company? If at this juncture the work is done by force and threats, tl.
If the cutting of trees is legally done, than why is the work carried under the protection of bouncers and not our police. Is our police force incapable? It is shameful to state that our Chief Minister being the MLA of this area promotes goonda raj by uprooting the local economy and boosting the capitalist model of development that would displace our people. This is no development but a manufactured under-development forced on our people.
