Pride is a feeling of pleasure and satisfaction at one’s accomplishments or possession. There are many types of pride but it is not possible to squeeze them all within this permissible space.
Everyone is beautiful in their own way. But many are wrapped up with excessive pride of beauty. The story of a person’s life journey becomes visible with wrinkles on one’s face, silvery hair on one’s head at the start of old age. Their pride forces them to dye their hair and get into the anti-ageing zone, of plastic surgery and cosmetology which contribute a great deal in making one’s physical appearance seem younger than it actually is. But the rules of nature cannot be changed for one person’s happiness as Nature exhibits the false mask by creasing the body; shrinking up the flesh. Nature takes its own course; it cannot be changed with cosmetics for a person’s happiness to look young.
Pride of religion should be within limit; with respect to other faiths or else it leads to argument and keeps one away from understanding God. Proud people do not listen to anyone and forget the true purpose of religion; they only pay more attention to rites and rituals.
Nowadays, we see more hatred in this world than love because religious hypocrites try to separate people by uttering God’s name and doing devil’s work. They hate Muslims, Jews, Christians and people of different faith other than theirs; they dislike because they don’t pray to the same God as they do; because they don’t eat and drink the same things like them. These people do not understand that, ‘there is only one God; only one caste — the caste of humanity; only one language — the language of the heart, and only one religion — the religion of love.” God is One whether we call him Allah, or Ishwar or by any other name. We all should live by the vision –. All together; with God we should progress.
Religion is personal relationship with God. Wearing a cross or going to a church does not make a person, a Christian. Similarly, wearing a tikka on the forehead or going to a temple does not make a person a Hindu. Religion is something within us. Mere uttering the word ’sugar’, one cannot sweeten one’s mouth. Likewise, if a man only talks about crores of wealth, it is not going to make him rich. Just by saintly attire, long journeys to holy places or holy baths, in the absence of spiritual action does not make a person holy or saint. We should practice what we preach or believe.
Pride of power of some ‘chalak’ politicians, ring in everyone’s ears of creating millions of jobs; with their magical wand of power; they assure to develop the State by clearing forest, converting fields, changing shabby road for ‘Acche Din‘ to come. But everyone knows that all this talk is beyond the limit of realism, calculating political morality with their prevailing standards.
When politicians come to power they make terrorizing resolutions to nip corruption in the bud. Whether it is ‘Mann ki batt’. Or ‘Mann ki soch’ we do not know. But we do not believe everything we hear from politicians; because corruption bud grows into a flower and fruits of corruption are produced and consumed and the cycle of corruption goes on.
