It was shocking as well as disgusting to witness on National Television, when Union Law Minister Sadanand Gowda commenting on the sinister and sensational ‘Vyapam’ scam that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not comment on this, because it is a ‘silly and simple issue‘.
If after so much exposes, so many arrests and more than thirty mysterious deaths relating to the ‘Vyapam’ job scam, it is referred as a silly and simple issue, just imagine the audacity , the mentality and the think tank running the Government to say the least.
Our Prime Minister who is otherwise a very vocal person is so silent regarding Sushma Swaraj issue, on impropriety and helping an absconder like Lalit Modi, Swaraj is also an elected MP from Madhya Pradesh which is the epicentre of the ‘Vyapam ‘ scam. The PM is also silent on the Vasundara Raje issue, the Smirti Irani and the Pankaja Munde issue. One cannot comprehend if really all these ministers kept their higher ups including the PM without any information about their wrong doings.
When one of the BJP spokesperson was asked why the PM did not say anything during his recent ‘Maan Ki Baat ’on these burning issues plaguing the government. The spokesperson brazenly said that the PM will choose only when he wants to speak and what he wants to speak, and nobody should ask him otherwise. Is the PM not at all bothered about public sentiments and public perception and also thinks these are just simple and silly issues? Does Narendra Modi subscribe to such thoughts?
Recent findings show that the Governor of Madhya Pradesh Ram Naresh Yadav who is accused No 10 in the ‘Vyapam ‘ job scam has received lakhs of rupees paid to his son in his own (Governor’s) office, not forgetting the Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan who is alleged to have a hand in the matter, as many whistle blowers in this case are directly accusing him. He initially did not want a CBI probe, but buckled later to hand over the case to the CBI.
The arrogance, high handedness and brazenness of the BJP spokespersons like Sambit Patra, Sudhanshu Trivedi, Nalin Khohli, etc, speaks volumes of a party we all voted for, when the nation was looking forward to usher in a new government free of scams, corruption etc.
Now we witness the slogans like ‘Zero-tolerance to corruption‘, Na kayenghe nam khane denge‘ , Ache dhin…etc…. remain just meaningless slogans. The BJP manifesto before the elections with so many promises including transparency and probity just discarded and forgotten. The image of the government seriously dented and battered.
The silence of the PM on such urgent matters of is not healthy for the government as well as the BJP which loses credibility and the trust of the people. The PM’s indecisiveness and silence gives way to allegations that many higher ups are involved in these issues and scams. Sacking of these Cabinet ministers and state ministers they say will boomerang on the BJP government and so many skeletons and wrong doings would be tumbling one after the other from the cupboards of the high and the mighty.
