Everyone witnessed apples falling even before Newton discovered gravity, but Newton reasoned why the apple fell down, on his head and why it did not fall up, towards the sky. He finally discovered the gravitational force which till then was unknown.
Similarly, I feel a village Wiseman (VW) has learnt from self experience why some students are studious while others are not. As we all learn with the help of four methods, namely — Experience, Deduction, History and Spoken Word, I am producing here VW’s ideas, for I feel that those who agree with him will glide pleasantly through his views, enjoying many simple revelations of what is plain in everyone’s sight and yet many of us ignore it.
According to (VW) a studious child is a hard-working character — showing studious interests by continuous attention on his studies for he believes what Benjamin Disraeli said: “The secret of success is constancy of purpose”.
Most family atmosphere is centered on feasts, birthday parties, and picnics with fine weather friends. The effect of such setting, takes days for youngsters to come back to their normal study environment from such party or social reunions. So, such children do not attain high percentages in their final exam and often blame their parents for their poor performance.
Secondly, our youth are influenced by the idiot box. TV eats learner’s bookish time. They lose themselves in a fantasy world and waste study time. Thus, TV swayed pupils do not reach the merit list. Therefore, a student should cut down as many distractions as possible – such as TV, because it sucks the students in and never lets them go. It’s like a crack in their mind. Concentration increases in the atmosphere of silence and diminishes in a situation of noise pollution.
But, “all work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy.” If one follows the clockwork system – I mean continuously working or studying, it may lead to depressed and sickness. We are humans and not machines. We have to leave, a gap between our work, so that, our mind gets refreshed. Just as a pencil have to be sharpened every time after usage, to have an effective writing, similarly, a person will be mentally disturbed if he is not allowed to relax. This situation is common in all walks of life from school going kids to working people. Both work and relaxation must go in balanced proportion to improve one’s vigour.
We should know that all our plans or desires are done not by our own strength but by the power of God. The power of prayer is tremendous and helps us overcome the toughest of challenges, hurdles and misfortunes. We should have time for God every day. But children beseech blessings of God only during examination period.
After hard-work of studying we need good homily, fresh food for studying energy So that when learners return to their study room, they get engrossed to their full capability. Every child should have good food for the body and the spirit because, ‘a sound peaceful mind in a sound healthy body produces good results.
Considering the views of VW, I conclude that we should not underestimate people. Such facts are exposed not only to researches but sometimes the humble village folks also see it.
