Pakistani cricketer Danish Kaneria lauds RSS, shares post on Indian citizenship

Danish Kaneria praises RSS, criticizes opponents, and addresses Indian citizenship rumors, stating Bharat is his ancestral land and referencing the CAA.

Former Pakistani cricketer Danish Kaneria, one of the few Hindus to represent Pakistan internationally, recently made headlines for a series of posts praising the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) ahead of addressing questions about Indian citizenship.

On Dussehra, Kaneria lauded the Sangh for being “dedicated to social service without seeking recognition,” adding: “No caste, no religion, no boundaries, just service. I salute every volunteer carrying this mission forward. #RSS100Years.”

He also targeted critics of the RSS-BJP, including fact-checker Mohammed Zubair and lawyer Indira Jaising, urging the government to empower RSS volunteers. Kaneria has previously praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and criticized former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi over alleged discrimination.

Regarding Indian citizenship, Kaneria clarified: “Pakistan may be my Janmabhoomi, but Bharat, the land of my ancestors, is my Matrubhumi. I have no plans to seek Bharatiya citizenship currently, but if I do in the future, the CAA is already in place for people like us.”
