Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir ordered the closure of all schools and colleges across the Kashmir Valley on March 2 and 3 as a precautionary measure following reported drone intrusion attempts along the border.
The decision was taken amid heightened security concerns after multiple suspected Pakistani drones were detected near the Line of Control (LoC). Officials said the temporary closure was aimed at ensuring the safety of students and staff across the region.

The Directorate of School Education Kashmir issued a formal order stating that the reopening of schools after the winter vacation has been postponed.
“In the interest of administration and safety of students, it is hereby ordered that all Government and Private Recognised Schools of Kashmir Division shall remain closed on March 2 and 3, 2026,” the order stated.
Authorities are closely monitoring the security situation, and further decisions regarding the reopening of educational institutions are expected based on developments in the coming days.
