Educator and climate activist Sonam Wangchuk has reportedly lost more than seven kilograms after completing 10 days of an indefinite hunger strike at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, according to the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). Doctors monitoring his condition said his weight has dropped to 59.4 kg, although his blood pressure, oxygen saturation and other vital signs remain stable. Wangchuk has acknowledged feeling tired but has vowed to continue the fast.
The protest supports the CJP’s demand for Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation over alleged examination irregularities and paper leaks, including the cancellation and subsequent re-conduct of the NEET-UG examination.
Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court has ordered the restoration of the CJP’s X account after the Centre informed the court that concerns linked to the NEET re-examination had ended. The court observed that the primary reason for blocking the account no longer existed and revoked the earlier order.
