The Supreme Court has granted bail to three accused linked to the blood sample tampering in the 2024 Pune Porsche crash case that claimed two lives. The accused — Aditya Avinash Sood, Ashish Satish Mittal, and Amar Santosh Gaikwad — were charged with replacing the blood samples of the minor occupants of the car with their own.
Hearing the matter, a bench led by Justice BV Nagarathna said there was no justification for continued incarceration when the accused had already spent over three years as undertrials and the prosecution was yet to examine 159 witnesses. The court noted that delays in framing charges and trial progress weighed in favour of bail.

The bench imposed strict conditions, including weekly police attendance and surrender of passports. It also strongly criticised the parents of the main accused, calling out failure in parenting and irresponsible behaviour leading to the fatal incident.
