Reports circulating online have claimed that Mojtaba Khamenei will not attend the alleged funeral ceremonies of his father, Ali Khamenei, citing security concerns. However, these claims have not been verified by credible international news agencies or official Iranian authorities.
According to the reports, Ayatollah Hakim Elahi, described as a representative in India, reportedly said that Israeli threats and surveillance risks would make Mojtaba Khamenei’s public appearance “dangerous.”
The same reports further claim that Ali Khamenei, described as Iran’s former Supreme Leader, was killed on February 28 and that funeral ceremonies are scheduled to begin in Tehran on July 4 before concluding with burial in Mashhad on July 9. They also mention religious observances in Qom on July 7.
