VASCO: A Mapusa resident died, while two others were seriously injured after their van collided into an oncoming tipper truck at Pirni, Verna on Monday.
According to Verna police, the incident occurred at around 4 pm, when Sachin Vengurlekar (32) and two others – and man and a woman – were proceeding towards Mapusa in a van. Near the Mahindra showroom, Sachin lost control of the vehicle, which collided into an oncoming tipper truck. All three sustained serious injuries, while their van was badly damaged. The trio was shifted to Hospicio, Margao, where Vengurlekar died while undergoing treatment.
Police informed that the other two injured persons, both residents of Vasco, were taking a lift from Vengurlekar to the Verna IDC.
