Vasco: A senior citizen was killed in a truck-two wheeler collision reported near St Andrew’s Church junction, Vasco on Monday.
According to sources, 64-year-old Dilip Dongrikar, a resident of Vaddem was pillion riding with his friend Prasad Kantak on a scooter when the truck allegedly rammed into the scooter from behind when the duo was entering the town via the shipyard road. The impact was such that the victim fell off the scooter and was crushed under the wheels of the truck resulting in his instant death.
Luckily, the rider had a close shave after he was knocked down on the other side of the road.
The truck driver has been detained.
Meanwhile, the locals have demanded action against the rash truck and bus drivers.
