PANJIM: The High Court of Bombay at Goa on Monday extended the ad-interim relief to Raj Bhavan in connection with a petition filed by Raj Bhavan claiming it is not a Public Authority and does not come within the purview of the Right to Information Act.
The court, last November, had granted a stay on the order of the State Information Commission bringing it under the ambit of the Right to Information  Act.
Raj Bhavan had challenged the order of the Goa Chief Information Commissioner on October 15, 2018, who while disposing a petition filed by Adv Aires Rodrigues upheld the earlier orders of the Commission holding that Raj Bhavan is a Public Authority and comes under the Right to Information  purview.
Rodrigues in his reply filed before the High Court has opposed the petition. The relief has been extended till January 29 when the matter will be heard next.
