11-yr-old boy brutally murdered at Sankhali, accused absconding

The accused identified as Chandu from Maharashtra allegedly smashed the deceased’s head with a stone

BICHOLIM: In a horrific incident, a 11-year-old boy was brutally murdered by a Maharashtra native by smashing his head with a stone at Vithalapur, Sankhali, on Saturday night.

According to police, the accused, identified as Chandu, a native of Shegaon, Maharashtra, has been absconding since then.

Chandu was allegedly dismissed from his job. The 11-year-old victim was the brother of the new worker appointed in Chandu’s place.

After the incident, the body of the deceased has been shifted to Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Bambolim, for post-mortem.

A senior official attached to the Bicholim Police Station told O Heraldo that a case has been registered under Section 103 of BNS and Section 8 of Goa Children’s Act and further investigation is in progress.

The official said that two teams have been sent to Maharashtra to nab the accused.
