PANJIM: The Goa Police has promoted 143 personnel including 42 police sub inspectors who have been elevated to the post of police inspectors, 11 assistant sub inspectors promoted as PSIs and 88 head constables as ASIs.
An ASI Driver has been promoted as PSI in the Motor Transport Establishment of the Goa Police while another head constable (driver) is promoted as ASI (driver).
Their promotion/confirmation was recommended by the Police Establishment Board. Last year, 135 police personnel were promoted and 1,676 were confirmed in service. The strength of the Goa Police will soon be increased as the government accorded sanction for creation of 902 posts in the department, last year.
As per the sanction, three superintendents of police, 12 deputy SPs, 36 PIs and 240 PSIs as well as vacancies in other areas are created.
