149 Dubai-bound passengers stranded as flight develops technical snag

VASCO: As many as 149 passengers of a Dubai-bound flight were left stranded at the Dabolim international airport as the flight developed a technical snag on Friday.

According to sources, the incident occurred on late Friday night when the passengers were boarding the international flight that was supposed to leave from Goa to Dubai at around 1 am on Saturday morning from the Dabolim Airport. When the passengers were boarding the flight, the flight operators noticed that the fuel tanks of the flight had developed a leakage.

The passengers were deboarded immediately and repair works of the fuel tank were taken up.

Later, the airlines informed the passengers that the issue will be resolved soon and the flight will be ready for a take off by 4 pm on Saturday. But the flight was not ready to depart even by 6 pm which intensified the woes of the passengers. Though, the flight took off for its destination but only with around 107 passengers at 7 pm as other passengers had already cancelled the flight and left for Dubai by other flight arrangements.
