PANJIM: The first part of 21-day nationwide lockdown has recorded 17,867 violations of lockdown and 385 First Information Reports against the violators.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, when the 21 days lockdown ended, announced an extension till May 3 in a bid to stop the spread of virus.
As per the data released by Goa Police, out of 17,867 violations in entire Goa, maximum 13,858 are in South Goa while 4009 are reported in the North District.
The data further reveals that 680 persons are arrested for violating the lockdown orders and the police force has seized 319 vehicles. The department has also collected more than Rs 23.74 lakh by way of fines.
