PANJIM: While postponing the reopening of its offices in view of nationwide lockdown extension, State government on Tuesday directed the heads of the departments including the officers of All India Services, Goa Civil and police services to continue to attend regular office duty from Wednesday, while permitting other employees to work from home.
According to an order issued by Under Secretary Shripad Arlekar, the State government and State authorities will continue the measure of social distancing upto May 3.

“However, all the officers of All India Services, Goa Civil and Police Services, Other Goa General Services, Heads of Department and Officers of equivalent rank and Officials of the rank of Junior Engineers, shall continue to attend regular office duties with effect from April 15,” the order stated.
“While the remaining government employees shall work from home and be available on telephone and electronic means of communication at all times,” it added.
The employees, however, are asked to attend the office, if call for and if any exigency of work demands.
The directions does not apply to the officers and employees engaged in essential or emergency services and those engaged in COVID duty.
