PANJIM: As many as 19 candidates will contest the by-election to seven wards of different village panchayats scheduled on March 25.

There will be straight fights in three wards while triangular battle will be seen in other three wards.

The straight flights will be in Ward I of Rachol Panchayat between Fatima Cardoso and Querobino Gomes; Ward II (OBC) of Calem (Kalay) Panchayat between Pratap Naik and Suraj Naik and between Dinesh Velip and Sarvanand Velip in Ward VII (reserved for Scheduled Tribe) of Barcem-Quedem Panchayat.

The triangular battle will be seen in Ward VI (reserved for OBC) of Ona-Maulinguem-Kudchirem Panchayat between Eknath Chari, Rajendra Narvekar and Shahu Varak; Ward V of Velguem Panchayat between Mahesh Gavande, Sakshi Priolkar and Sarvesh Ghadi and Ward VI of Orlim Panchayat between Evangelista Pimenta, Peter Fernandes and Shirley Braz.

Harshad Parit, Prashant Naik, Pruthviraj Fal Dessai and Rohidas Naik are locked in a quadrangular fight in Ward IV of Balli-Adnem Panchayat.
