Father dies, children injured in fatal accident at Nagoa

CALANGUTE: A man hailing from Nagoa, Bardez, succumbed to injuries after an Activa scooter on which he and his two children were travelling was knocked down by a car driven by a tourist from Gujarat, on Friday morning. 

The tragic incident took place at the Nagoa Dream Circle at around 7.45 am when the deceased, John Trinidade D’Souza, 53, was proceeding to drop his children at St Joseph High School, Arpora. When he reached near Holy Trinity Church, close to the junction, a car driven by a tourist Paushak Shah collided with the scooter from behind, due to which the rider and his two children fell on the road and sustained injuries, Anjuna police said.

D’Souza, a resident of Rauta Waddo, Nagoa, succumbed to his injuries on way to the District Hospital, Mapusa. 

The driver of the car, Paushak, a resident of Vadodara, Gujarat, has been arrested, police said.
