PORVORIM: Two minors who had escaped with four other children from the Apna Ghar in Merces were found by an alert resident in Mapusa on Saturday.
According to Mapusa police, a resident of Mapusa happened to recognize the boy, who had fled from Apna Ghar, near a school in Altinho-Mapusa.
A girl was also seen along with the boy.
The resident immediately got in touch with Apna Ghar officials and he was advised to hand them over to Mapusa Police.
Acting swiftly, the resident took them to the Mapusa Police Station in the afternoon and police later handed them over to the Old Goa Police, where a complaint had been filed against them for having escaped form the Apna Ghar child remand home.
The girl happens to a victim of sexual assault and Apna Ghar officials are reported to have contacted her parents, asking them to take custody of their daughter on Monday.
